Class Description:

Herbal Ecology
Natalie DeNormandie

Basic ecology is a tool for understanding landscapes, the systems that are at play in them, and the plants that live in them. Good grounding in ecological principles can not only engender responsible wildcrafting but also more efficient harvesting and higher quality herbs. We will discuss: 1/ basic landscape ecological principles and look at examples of each; 2/ ecological systems and habitats, including plants that reside in specific homes; and 3/ commonly used herbs and what their home tells us about their character, use, and constituent level.

I hope to see you there!
