Cinnamon Chaga Chai
I simplified this recipe from ‘Chai for a busy Day’ by Katja.
I put about 2 teaspoons in the teapot with 3 cups of water, boil for 20 minutes to get the medicinal properties wrung out of all those roots, and strain. I like it with 1 cup of raw milk or freshly made almond milk from ‘crispy nuts.’ Before adding the milk, it is a rich brown. If you use 1 teaspoon as 1 part, this recipe makes about 1/4 cup of dried tea.
- 4 parts chaga
- 2 parts burdock
- 2 parts dandelion root, roasted
- 1 part ginger
- 1 part cardamom
- 1 part cinnamon
- 1 part nutmeg
- 1 part licorice root
- 1/2 part orange peel
- 1/2 part clove
- 1/2 part allspice
- 1/2 part fennel
- 1/4 part or about 3 stevia leaves
