Find and sample excellent drinking botanicals: walk through Botanical Kitchen’s edible landscape abundant with wild and cultivated, culinary and medicinal plants. Learn which botanicals make for the best instant flavor at the bar, and which require coaxing or layering for best effect. Gain some understanding of the nutritional and medicinal benefits of local botanicals for using at the bar

Create vibrant botanical drinks: watch a bar demo with a broken-down formula for fail-safe drinks that allows you to be creative and seasonally inspired with your drinks. Get your friends to ask, ‘surprise me’ when you ask them what they’d like to drink. Leave with confidence to create happy parties with conversation-starter imbibements.

I team up with Karina Hines at her place in Waltham (featuring SegoDesigned terrace gardens) for a botanically-infused, cocktail-creating summer evening. On Wednesday, June 11 from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm, Karina will host us for a 2-hour workshop full of botanicals and imbibement.

I will cover plant identification, including the herbs that work best for instant flavor and those that require some coaxing. Karina will walk you through the bartender technique. And we’ll leave you with a bar-card to take home; a road map for inspired future concoctions.
